Rowyn and Bo-Bo's conversation

I overheard Rowyn the other day playing with BoBo. She was putting him to bed and I was listening to the conversation.
Rowyn - "Ok bobo, time for nite nite. You stay in the hockey bed ok? OK! This is the little bed - no little bed Bobo... Hockey bed. Stay in bed BoBo! In the hockey bed! I close the door only a little bit ok? OK! Is this good? OK! Nite Nite Bobo"
I was kind of amazed. This is our night time routine.
Reminder - hockey bed is her big bed and we have the crib still in her room as well (just in case) and it's the little bed.
She repeated and did all of the things that we do at night time. It's kind of amazing to see how important the things you do with your kids are. They're paying attention and noticing every little thing and mimicing this and doing the same things.
Over the holidays Brad and I have noticed Rowyn's starting to talk in complete sentences and really start to play and use her imagination. We'll kind of stop and look at her and listen and raise our eyebrows at the things that come out of her mouth. Her little personality is starting to show more and more and we're loving it!

The day after the fireworks

Well, it's the morning after our New Years celebrations. I'm up - by necessity only - and Brad's lurking somewhere under the covers. Rowyn's having a grand old time playing with the millions of books that we have. All in all, I'd say it's a pretty good way to spend the morning after ringing in the new year.
I am having a hard time with 2009. Rowyn was born in 2006 and when you look at it that way we're coming up to 3 years already! I clearly remember wondering what kind of person she'd be like and what kind of things she would say and do as I held my little teeny tiny newborn with the navy blue eyes. Her eyes are the colour of whiskey now and she has an amazing personality. It always amazes me when something new and funny comes out of her mouth. She spent about half an hour yesterday giving me really nice hugs and kisses and say "I wuvu Mammy!"
We spent New Years Eve here at the house hang'n with J and Martin. We had a rockn' fondue and rang in 12 o'clock with the proper champagne and cheering. Rowyn slept right through (thank goodness!). Today brings the start of the new year - mind you a very cold start to the new year. I think it's -19C this morning brrrrrrrr!
I wonder what 2009 will bring. I'm hoping lots of laughter, love, and happiness - oh and I would like to fill that New Years Resolution I made last night. That would be a plus.
Happy New Year to everyone!
Here are some random pics from the last few weeks

Rowyn and Auntie Kristine chilling out together on Christmas Eve

Rowyn took a self portrait of me sans makeup. I'm absolutely floored at this image actually. You never really get to see yourself as others see you and this kind if kicks a punch.... Very liberating to look at myself this way. I love the pic though.

Rowyn trying out the new fireplace wood holder.

Our boy getting REALLY comfortable in his old age... or is it just Brad and I getting more comfortable in our old age?
