Lions... Tigers... & Monkeys??!!

We went to the zoo last Friday! We went with Lisa and her daughters Chloe and Ashlynn. Ashlynn is Rowyn's age and Chloe is 3. I had a great time. We were at the Elmvale Zoo and it was a free day for us. Rowyn's hearing group had the day booked just for them so everyone was free. We say Lions, Tigers - one that was very interested in Rowyn's toy she was waving around - at least I hope he was interested in the toy and not Rowyn! Rowyn really liked the monkeys. Every time we saw one she laughed.
We've been having the greatest time now that the weather has improved. Rowyn and I are out running almost every morning, we're visiting friends a couple of times a week (this week we were lucky enough to be invited over to a friends house who had a pool. They turned on the heater to 88F and it was awesome). We've gone to the zoo, we've been shopping, and we've even going to Centre Island in a couple of weeks. Time is just flying by.
The newest thing..... On Sunday Rowyn said DaDa. Just like that. I thought I heard it in the morning and Rowyn was hangn' out with Daddy all day and sure enough, everything was "DADADADadadDADA" all day. Long gone are the days of Mama. Mama doesn't rate anymore and is old news.
We can add chicken and roast beef to Rowyn's list of foods. She seems to like then well enough. She opens her mouth like a little bird! So cute.

Pics....

Would you look at this! I found her like this after her nap this morning. I bet she'll be walking in the next few weeks. I wonder if this is going to make it harder for her to nap (like it isn't hard enough already!)

Look it finally fits! Kind of reminds me of cousin Tegan with all her fancy hats

Chilln' in my Crab mobile in the pool.

I've got a cool Daddy who blows bubbles with me

&*()%#$S)_)!!!F(E)??

The title pretty much sums things up around here. There are so many things going on that I can't even wrap my brain around them.

Let's see, Rowyn's tooth finally popped through and it's down enough that she looks pretty funny with one tooth on the top and two on the bottom.

Now that the warm weather has hit we've been out playing in Rowyn's Pool! I'm very tempted to climb in myself. So far Khaos has resisted the urge to dive in - but just barley.

I've been thinking that Rowyn is starting to drop her morning naps but I'm just not sure. She sure isn't doing a longer one in the afternoon even if she doesn't have a morning one. Today was a good day. One 40 minute and then one 1.5 hours in the afternoon. I could live with this. Tonight she'll be able to go to bed at 7 or 7:30 instead of the 6:30 that she's been doing for the past while. I'd love for her to stay up longer in the evening and we can do walks and Brad can actually visit with her.

Rowyn's now eating lots of different foods. She rejected all of the home made veggies and chicken that I made her. She has generously donated this to Cael - her friend - who doesn't look a gift horse in the mouth and would gladly eat her home made veggies. So, Rowyn gets little cut up pieces of cucumber, avocado, carrots, pasta, chicken, kiwi, banana, rice puffs, cheese and I think that's it for now. I'm going to start to do more soon. I'm impressed even though she isn't all that good at chewing yet.

I must go, I have a crawling Rowyn that's currently into the printer paper and thinking that this is a great thing to crumple up and destroy......

I wonder what it's like.....

I wonder what it's like to cry and then have someone pick you up and cuddle you and make sure everything is ok.
I wonder what it's like to try to crawl on you own and start to explore the big vast world of your living room.
I wonder what it's like to explore the soft touch of your doggie's fur and nuzzle up to your first stuffed friend.
I wonder what it's like to finally understand that Mummy and Daddy love you so much they would do anything for you.
I wonder what it's like to feel sand on my feet, in my hands, and in my mouth for the first time.
I wonder what it's like to feel the pain of those first teeth coming through........

And that's where we are today. Friday afternoon when the sudden fever broke out I was wondering what was going on. Yesterday afternoon I finally got the answer to that. Rowyn has popped out an eye tooth. Yup. Upper left hand eye tooth. I can just barely see it and can just barely feel it. She isn't letting me get a good look or feel yet as I'm sure things are very sore. She's been cranky, moody, fussy the last few days. I'm just glad that there is a reason, and a reason other than a cold or sickness. I'll get a picture to post for everyone once it comes down more.

The family - including Khaos - had a wonderful time visiting Ty, Megan, and Kurt over the weekend in Port Stanley. We took a nice walk down the beach and Rowyn had her first sand experience. I think she liked it but I could tell she was more interested in playing with Ty's toys and trying to pry her hat off her head than the sand. It was exciting to have Rowyn and Ty meet for the first time and play together. I already have visions of the two of them conspiring up plots of mystery and adventure that will surely test all the Grandma and Grandpa's patience.

Meg, Kurt - thanks for the wonderful weekend! Pics.....

Here comes trouble in a jog stroller

Our Princess Poopy Pants is on her way to running a marathon - on her knees. She started taking those few hesitant crawls last week and this week it's full steam ahead! She's made her way into the kitchen to see what I'm doing, down the hall and made friends with the dust mop (it sits in the hall as I have to sweep the dog hair up into a nice neat pile every day), found out the hardwood is fun to scoot around on, has quickly dashed across the room to see if she can beat me to one of Khaos' soggy, wet, gross toys, and has generally given me such delight in watching her explore the new world that is outside of confines of her mat on the floor.

Rowyn has also acquired a new ride. Yes, she is now the proud owner of one red jog stroller. It's amazing. I love it. We've been out running twice this week at 7:30 a.m. in the splendid (did I just use the word splendid?!) morning sunshine. This is definitely a habit that Khaos, Rowyn, and I will continue doing throughout the next few months in the summer.

I think Rowyn is sick. We went to the mall today to find Mummy some new pants (I STILL can't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes - I miss them!) and Rowyn was not a happy camper. Usually she loves to watch the people and chat up a storm but today even a Baby Mum-Mum wouldn't cut it. We got back into the car and she immediately fell asleep. This is very unusual for our Princess. She likes to look out the window and visit with Bruce (another long story). I brought her inside when she woke up when we pulled into the driveway and she fell back asleep for another 40 minutes. She woke up quite upset and then proceeded to want to cuddle. to CUDDLE. My little lamb is NOT a cuddler. She's a goer. I was surprised and a little concerned. She proceeded to fall sleep on my chest. Now I'm totally perplexed. Temperature checked, and sure enough she has a 100.5F temperature. Tylenol was administered and another snooze ensued on my chest. I basically put her down sleeping in her crib with barely a stir. Our poor lamb. I've never seen her so cuddly and needy. Melts that heart even as it competes with the worry.

I'm a big girl now! I can drink my milk out of my own Sippy Cup! It was a long go to get Rowyn to like the sippy cup but I'm glad we persisted. No bottle weaning!

This is how I find Rowyn most days. Sitting up in her crib having a great time gabbering and chatting with her 'guys'
