On hands and knees

It's official! Rowyn is crawling on her hands and knees and actually moving. No more semi-wiggling, butt shifting, worm moving crawling, but the tried and true method of hand and foot moving at the same time to get where you need to go.

Everyone - WATH OUT! THE ROWYNATOR IS ON THE MOVE

First Visit to the Park

My little girl is officially a big girl. In the last few days I've taken a better look at her and realized that she's not such a little infant anymore. She's moving like a toddler, has an opinion like a toddler and is even eating like a toddler. I don't know where the last 9 months have gone. Rowyn has been out in this world for as long as she was inside. Her 9 month birthday is next weekend. The weather this weekend reminded me so much of the first few weeks when Rowyn was born. Constantly worrying about whether she's too hot or too cold. I don't remember how to dress her! Unfortunately I think she's a little on the hot side. Her room is a toasty 29 degrees Celsius and she's in jammies and a bunting bag. Her fan is on and we have the fan on the furnace going to help cool down her room. My worry is later on when the sun goes down. It's still pretty cold throughout the night and I don't want her to be cold. That's not an unreasonable thing right?!

The other day Brad was playing with Rowyn making funny faces at her and she was laughing hysterically at him. In the past we would have to touch or tickle her to get a laugh but she thought Brad was the funniest thing ever. This went on for a good 10 minutes. Why don't we have a video with sound again?

Rowyn is into eating grapes (in her mesh teething thing), little rice puffs, bananas all mushed up, peas are finally OK and carrots are a give or take. Raspberries and blueberries are a big hit. I tried to give her some plain yogurt today and her face said it all - a no go. I'll try again in a few days.

Kathleen, Carolyn and I took the kids to the park to sit on the swings for the first time on Friday. I think the whole world was at the park. We had to wait our turn for the swings to be free. Rowyn loved being pushed on them. Lots of smiles and giggles. The hat I tied to her head she didn't love and kept trying to pull it off. Her poor sparkles (hearing aids) got the brunt of the abuse with the hat antics.

We bought Rowyn a little kiddie pool this weekend. We bought one that is tougher plastic so big bro Khaos won't rip it the first day Rowyn goes in it (because we all know that Khaos will want to play in there too).

Nothing beats the green fish. She still loves that thing!

More Rowyn Pics!

This is Rowyn on the move. So far she crawls backwards and ends up all over the place. Her favourite things to crawl and get are the computer cords.

This is Rowyn's Easter gift from Mummy and Daddy. She loved it but will need some assistance before she can use it on her own. (Yes, we know her hair is WILD, but what can you do?!)

This is Rowyn eating some apple for the first time in a little mesh teething thing. Who knew apple would taste so good through mesh.

Can you say Bed Head?

On the Move

Rowyn is on the move. Just this past week she's gone from sitting nice and quietly in one spot on her mat to doing the bum shuffle, the pushing backwards and the rolling around. No more am I able to leave the room and be sure she'll be in the same post as before. Now she's into the computer wires in 2 minutes flat, stuck underneath the tv hutch, and is into all her toys around her mat. I'm expecting her to be on all fours crawling in another couple of days. She's so cute when her little bum is in the air wiggling back and forth trying to figure out how to go.
Rowyn is also trying to pull herself up on things, including using my hair, shirt, toys, and Khaos as leverage. Looks like we're going to get crawling and standing all at ounce. Walking won't be far behind!

Rowyn got her second tooth! It wasn't as tramatic as the first one but a little diaper rash still and a little crankiness. She looks funny because her teeth are different lengths right now.

What kinds of things can Rowyn do?
Rowyn can turn on/off her light switch when we ask her to. I don't know if she really knows what she's doing but she likes to slap at the light when we say "Turn off your light!" Rowyn is clapping her hands, knows when we say "don't put it in your mouth", eating lots of food, on a sippy cup for one meal a day she sleeps through the night most of the time and wakes between 6-7. She also gives kisses when the mood strikes her. Nice open mouth ones that melt my heart.

Rowyn and her Auntie Ollie.

We went to see Auntie Ollie last week. Rowyn was amazing the whole time and loved Auntie Ollie. It was great to spend some time with her and catch up on things. We miss her and will be visiting more often!
