Rowyn is Three Months Old

It's hard to believe that Rowyn is Three Months Old! These three months have gone by so quickly. Just three months ago she was a newborn and couldn't hold her head up, smile, or focus on anything.
Now our little lamb is getting so big. Rowyn loves her baths, can hold her head up on her own now (and Daddy insists she's ready for the Jolly Jumper - but not quite yet. Rowyn is looking at everything. She found my watch the other day and spent about 10 minutes just starting at it. The fan and lights continue to be her favourite thing. She's looking at Khaos when he comes into her field of view, the TV amazes her (I don't let her watch too much of it) and she follows you around the room when you're moving. Rowyn doesn't like to be on her tummy but when I put her there she lifts her head and looks around and does a "mini-push up". No rolling over yet. Stay tuned for that. If you put a rattle in her hand she can hold it and look at it. Already everything is going in her mouth. Her bib, the rattle, her hands, everything except a bottle! Go figure.

Here are the most recent pics we've taken:

Rowyn's hair is so long now that I can put it in a cute little clip

Bath time - notice the "non-embarrassing" picture for later on

After Bath time a nice story from Daddy. She actually listened and looked at the pictures!

It's fall time & with it all of the hats, mits, and snowsuites

Pumpkin Patch

Auntie Kristine and I decided to take Rowyn to the Pumpkin patch. There is a pumpkin farm just up the road - a two minute drive. They had a huge pumpkin field with a hay ride, a few farm animals and a little playground. It was too cute. I was so ridiculously thrilled at taking her it was silly. I can't wait to take her again next year when she'll be able to walk and pick her own pumpkin. We ended up with three little pumpkins. Neither Brad or I are big on carving them. Next year we'll have to though and get Rowyn involved. The weather wasn't very nice on the day we went.
Rowyn and I caught a cold. This is her first cold. Let me tell you - it has turned our happy baby into a little crankpot with lots of boogers (do you know how hard it is to suck out those boogers !). Thank goodness there isn't a fever to go along with it. We're 2 days into the cold so I'm hoping the worst is over.

Progress Update

It's been a while since I had an update on the things that Rowyn has been able to do so I thought I'd put down a few things.
Rowyn is 11 weeks old tomorrow. Almost 3 months! She's outgrown most of her 0-3 month clothes. It's kind of sad to have to put things away. Now she's getting into the really cute outfits that so many people have generously gotten her. Our little girl is so cute!
Rowyn has found her voice. Boy oh boy is she a vocal girl. She loves to smile and smile and smile and make really loud yells. It's too cool to see. She started out just making cooing noises and then little gurgles and in the last week has really found her 'big girl' voice. She kind of scream/laughs.
Rowyn is so happy. Except when we're trying to feed her a bottle (which is our next hurdle to get over in the next two weeks or so) she's always laughing and giggling.
Rowyn loves to stand on you. If you just hold her under the arms she'll lock her knees and stand up for a while. Her neck control is unbelievable. Unless she's sleeping, you don't have to support her neck (ok - you have to be somewhat careful still 'cause she'll pull a bobble-head on you). I think we're going to be ready for the Bumbo chair soon and the Jolly Jumper in another few weeks. I can't wait for the Jolly Jumper. She's so active that I think she's really going to like it.
Lets see, we're still working on getting Rowyn to sleep through the night. Last night hew last meal was at 10:15 and she woke up at 4:30. She wasn't really crying just making noises. I waited 15 minutes hoping she would go back to sleep but she didn't. When I peeked in on her, she was having a grand time looking at her hands and trying to stuff them in her mouth. I re-swaddled her and crossed my fingers that she'd go back to sleep. To my surprise, she did just that! She woke up at 7:00 to start the day. I'm constantly impressed with the things she does and am looking forward to each new thing.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Who special ordered the fantastic weather?! Whoever it was - Thank you!
The entire Soloy/Phillips family travelled up to Deer Lake Cottages for the long weekend. I never realized how much "stuff" we would have to take. We always made fun of people that drove mini vans swearing we'd never own one. I'm taking a second look at those mini vans thinking they're the best invention for parents.
Rowyn hung out with her cousin Ty and the bonded. I took my sister and dad on the 4-wheeler. Dad hated it but Kristine loved it. She even drove and got up to 3rd gear. Way to go!
Here are some pictures from the weekend.
It was great to see the family and to spend time with everyone

Visit with Great Grandma

Rowyn, Grandma and I went down to Whitby to visit Great Grandma today. This was the first time that my Grandma got to see Rowyn. It was exciting to have the four generations together (we have to get that picture next time we're together!).
Grandma treated Mom and I to lunch and Rowyn happily napped the entire time. Grandma gave me the grand tour of her facility and introduced Rowyn and I to all of her friends. I must say, I'm impressed with the facility! There are so many things and activities going on. It looks like a lot of fun. And of course my Grandma is into everything. There are pictures of her in every activity imaginable on the walls.
Grandma - Rowyn and I had a great time. Thanks for the laughs and we'll send you some more pictures soon!
