We're in the midst of a small construction zone. We've decided it's time to re-do Rowyn's bedroom and move her into the larger one we were using as the office. We've dismantled everything so I'm now working on the dining room table. Closer to the TV and the coffee yes, but NOT the best when dinner time comes and we're amongst spaghetti and electronics. We've got a self imposed deadline of Sept 13th. Since the office/Rowyn's new room has nothing in it and the walls are just waiting for a coat of paint (and have been for the last 2 weeks) it's anyone's guess whether we'll get it done in time.
The summer's coming to a close. I can't believe it but I am SO looking forward to spending some time up north this coming week. We've got so many family and friends coming up and the weather looks like it's going to cooperate! I can't wait to add to Rowyn's summer memories with swimming, paddle boat riding, fishing and we can't forget roasting marshmallows over a fire - oh and I can't forget - riding in the golf cart with Grandpa. She'll get to spend some good time with her cousins and get to experience some of the things that I know Brad, his brother and his cousins we able to grow up doing together.
We had a great last couple of weeks. Rowyn took some private swimming lessons and now has the confidence of swimming all by herself with a life jacket on. A marked improvement from where we started at the beginning of the week.
Rowyn and I made the trek across town to the local farmers market that's held every Saturday morning. There was probably only 20 vendors or so but we spent close to 2 hours wandering around. We ate Kettle popcorn, fresh roasted corn, sat and listened to two ladies who were singing and playing the violin and guitar. Rowyn just loved listening to the music. We were able to get all kinds of fresh produce - including a purple broccoli. Rowyn is in LOVE with broccoli. It's her favourite vegetable. Weird considering she won't eat a green pepper or a sweet potatoe, but I'm not one to complain. Purple is still the reigning favourite colour so when I say the "purple broccoli" we had to buy it. I'll eventually tell her it's cauliflower, but not yet. Just another one of Mum's tricks (snicker snicker).
So, as we're winding down the summer I'll leave you to some recent pics.
Picture of Rowyn on the day we celebrated her birthday at the house. Happy birthday baby!
Rowyn opening the HUGE abundance of stickers from Auntie Jessie. I now have stickers on the inside of my washing machine, on my purse, my camera and Brad's been known to walk around work with a few Barbie stickers or Ariel stickers attached to him - very manly
This is my new fav pic. Rowyn was in a great mood and was playing with Khaos - or should I say was trying to boss our 80 lb family member around. When I suggested a Picture, I was able to snap a pretty good one
